Shaping Glass: Kilncarving and Custom Shapes




 Shaping Glass will explore 3 techniques to shape glass.  Add depth and 3-d textures with Kilncarved Glass. Students will use a variety of methods to make several small pieces using positive and negative relief.
Create Custom molds and shapes for your glass creations with SilkeMat.  
Vitrigraph - or Glass Writing is the art of pulling glass stringers straight from the kiln.  Invented by Bullseye Glass in the 1990's to create brush-like strokes in glass creations.  Students will have the opportunity to pull their own custom stringers to incorporate into their creations 


Skill Level: Beginner
Skill Details: Students must be able to cut glass
Materials Included: Glass and materials for first class. Students will bring or purchase glass for their main projects.
